Lou Dobbs: I'm Smarter Than Blitzer, Zahn (FishbowlNY)
CNN host Lou Dobbs says he gets to do what he calls "advocacy journalism," unlike colleagues Paula Zahn and Wolf Blitzer, because "they are quite different people than I am." "Immodestly let me say, one of the reasons would be my experience, my education, my analysis of the issues, and the empirical evidence and a demonstrated record, frankly, of knowing what I'm talking about," Dobbs told NPR. Rethinking the Newspaper Biz (The Atlantic)

Wikipedia Blocked Again in China (Flumesday)
The Chinese government reblocked the online reference site Wikipedia Friday after having lifted a year-long ban on October 10th. Not surprisingly, there is no word from the Chinese Ministry of Information as to why the site was dangled in front of China's internet users for a little over a month and then rescinded so abruptly.
Killings and Threats Rattle Journalists in Venezuela (NYT)

Recent murders have heightened concern over the ability of journalists to do their jobs without retribution.
