Tina Brown in Deal With HBO (NYP)
Liz Smith: Tina Brown is in a newly struck, first-look deal to bring projects and story ideas to HBO, the TV network that also seems to understand "buzz" and great storytelling versus the hackneyed stuff that is on the networks. She says: "I loved and admired the network for a long time, so the chance to work for HBO was too good to pass up."

Duff McDonald: The Drudge Report is worth between $5.3M and $86.4M. If you want to buy it, offer Drudge $10 million. Without him and his sources the site is worthless.

But it may be a case of too little, too late. Forbes: Despite the dizzying turbulence, McClatchy's Gary Pruitt said he remains bullish on his company and the newspaper industry.
Robin Roberts Taking Rest of the Year Off for Cancer Recovery (NYP)
Good Morning America host Robin Roberts is taking the rest of the year off to recover from the effects of breast cancer and chemotherapy. "I wanted to let you know that I have decided to take off the remainder of this year to allow my body time to heal and rest. I'm doing well and looking forward to spending this time with my family and loved ones," Roberts wrote yesterday on the ABC News Web site.
