Knight Ridder Bidders Get Set (Sacramento Bee)
The McClatchy Co. and other suitors are preparing to make offers for Knight Ridder Inc., the nation's second largest newspaper chain. Analysts believe that Knight, publisher of the San Jose Mercury News, Miami Herald and 30 other daily newspapers, could sell for at least $5 billion.

Economist Staffer to Host Al-Jaz Show (Guardian)
Arabic news channel Al-Jazeera has hired the magazine's health correspondent, Dr. Shereen El Feki, for its new English-language service. Based in London, El Feki will host the channel's flagship business and politics program People and Power when Al-Jazeera International launches this spring.
