Job Requirements The Vice President of Marketing and Sales fulfills a key position within Millers and is a member of the Strategic Planning Committee. Reporting to the president, this key leadership position is responsible for integrating Agency Services and Product Development with Marketing and Sales. A key component of this job is to develop and market Millers competitive uniqueness in the marketplace. He/she must understand how to use emerging technology as well as direct customer interface to increase market share.

 The Vice President of Marketing and Sales is responsible for:

o Continuous measurement of the independent agency force and growth of market share.

o Developing and implementing a Sales Plan and Marketing Plan that aligns with Millers Strategic Business Plan.

o Developing and monitoring growth strategies and goals, handling and resolving a variety of agency issues and maintaining closeness to the market through agency visitations.

o Managing the sales function. Establishing and monitoring sales goals and objectives of independent agents and field operations staff.

o Ensuring that new products are developed and marketed that are in line with Millers business objectives.

o Managing the marketing/branding function and outside marketing agency including an e-marketing component.

o Building brand equity and awareness of Millers brand. Developing and managing strategic marketing initiatives including targeted marketing, advertising, public and community relations, and on-line marketing initiatives.

o Tracking marketing ROI on an ongoing basis.


Qualifications, Personal and Professional Attributes:

The successful candidate will likely possess:

o An undergraduate degree in marketing, communications (or other relevant degrees) from an accredited college or university. An advanced degree (MBA or other graduate degree) is preferred.

o Ten plus years of increasing leadership responsibility in a business to business environment required. Experience in the financial services industry and the property / casualty insurance sector a plus.

o Excellent communication and leadership talents and the ability to manage within a collaborative and dynamic environment.

o The analytical ability to review data and trends and recommend strategies to achieve goals.

o Thorough knowledge and understanding of business to business marketing and sales development.

o Significant understanding and proven success in utilizing technology to drive sales, customer satisfaction and retention and brand awareness.

o Ability to reach company growth goals and market share utilizing the independent agency structure.
