Job Requirements This position is located in the New York regional PR office of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts. The office is responsible for public relations activities throughout North and South America for the group's hotels and projects under development throughout the world. The PR Coordinator will handle reactive media queries, proactively pitch media and develop story angles, maintain media lists, develop their own network of contacts, monitor clips, and handle day-to-day operations of the office. The PR Coordinator will communicate with colleagues around the globe and media throughout the Americas. The PR Coordinator will also be responsible for developing and posting hotel and brand content for the corporate Twitter feed, as well as monitoring the feed during US business hours. The position reports to the Director of Public Relations, based in New York.

Candidate Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree with strong communications skills
• Strong multi-tasking and organizational ability
• Self-motivated and an ability to work independently
• Ability to think strategically and problem solve

Preferred Skills and Experience
• Familiarity with traditional, online and social media ideally in the luxury and/or travel fields
• Experience writing and editing materials for press distribution
• Experience working in a global organization and ability to communicate cross-culturally
• Creative approach to storytelling
