Ben Finzel, Fleishman’s “Out Front” SVP Joins Widmeyer

Ben Finzel, founder of Fleishman-Hillard’s “Out Front” practice, and blog by the same name, is leaving the agency to join Widmeyer as SVP in charge of public affairs.

Widmeyer is “fiercely” independent according to their boilerplate. The trades put them at about 50 people and 9 million in billings, focusing on healthcare, pharma, higher education, and government.

The release details Finzel’s history including posts on the Hill, and as a Clinton appointee in the Department of Energy, developing the “Clean Energy for the 21st Century,” with no mention of his LGBT niche.

We don’t know who will pick up Fleishman’s LGBT torch yet, but a good guess would be the most senior of the bloggers SVP Peter Klaus, already based in the D.C. office.
