Brunswick Group has restructured its leadership in order to make chairman Alan Parker more available for external and client-facing work. Susan Gilchrist (left) has been promoted to a new position, group chief executive, based in New York. Rob Pinker has been promoted to the new position of COO based in London and Johannesburg. Both execs have been with the firm since 1995. Gilchrist was previously head of U.S. operations, a position she took in 2010 after relocating from London. Pinker was managing partner for the Middle East and Africa.
Michael Buckley has been named U.S. managing partner, assuming the role vacated by Gilchrist. He’ll be based in San Francisco. Itumeleng Mahabane will lead the Johannesburg office and Mark Palmer will lead the Dallas/Ft. Worth office.
And if that weren’t enough, the firm has also announced that it’s opening a new office in Brazil. The Sao Paolo location is the firm’s 20th, and it will be led by Thomas Kamm, a firm partner since 2005, and Ana Paula Pessoa, who is joining the firm as a partner. She comes from Infoglobo, the information services business of Brazilian media company Globo, where she was CFO.
