CBS Communications EVP and Being “Two” People

CBS EVP of Communications Gil Schwartz has an alter-ego. You may already know that.

This week Schwartz was on Bloomberg TV’s “Night Talk” to chat about his new book, “Executricks” and of course being a PR person with two identities.

The back story: “In 1983, as Stanley Bing, he landed a column in Esquire magazine, taking shots at the laughable ways of the business world. Since then, he has also written for newspapers, a cigar magazine, Seventeen and, most recently Fortune, current home of Bing’s monthly business column.”

CBS’ reaction when Schwartz was outed as Stanley Bing? “Once people found out, bizarrely I was promoted!”
