<title>Super Bowl Ad Frenzy Overshadowing the Game?</title>

<p>It&#8217;s only Tuesday, but the buzz surrounding the Super Bowl ads is hitting fever pitch. Where to begin?</p>
<p>First, we&#8217;ve got more teasers and pre-releases. Mashable has a rundown of <a href="http://mashable.com/2012/01/30/whos-winning-the-most-shared-super-bowl-ads-so-far/#7ecIhO7j0XA">the most shared</a> as of yesterday afternoon. But since then, we&#8217;ve already added <a href="http://blog.hulu.com/2012/01/31/mushymush/">a teaser from Hulu</a>, starring Will Arnett (note the <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/search?q=%23mushymush">#mushymush</a> hashtag) and the latest Acura ad, starring Jerry Seinfeld and Jay Leno. The hashtag for that one is <a href="https://twitter.com/#!/search/%23jerrynsx">#JerryNSX</a>. Brands have learned that they have to take digital initiative to get the most bang for their many, many bucks if they want to get their <a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/prnewser/buzz-super-bowl-ads-already-starting_b32073">own version of &#8220;The Force.&#8221;</a></p>

<title>Former NYC Education Comms Director Joins News Corp</title>
<description><![CDATA[<p><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-33247" title="news corp logo" src="http://www.mediabistro.com/prnewser/files/2012/01/news-corp-logo1-300x47.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="47" />Just one day after <a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/prnewser/news-corp-pr-head-everett-leaving-henderson-promoted_b33168">it was announced</a> that <strong><a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/News-Corp-profile.html">News Corp</a></strong>&#8216;s SVP of public affairs and communications, <strong><a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/Teri-Everett-profile.html">Teri Everett</a></strong>, would be stepping down, the company has announced that another comms director is stepping in.</p>
<p>Natalie Ravitz, the communications director for the New York City Department of Education, is joining News Corp as Rupert Murdoch&#8217;s chief of staff. The change takes effect in two weeks. A focus of her job will be to &#8220;prioritize my commitments to align with key News Corp. initiatives,&#8221; according to an internal email from Murdoch.</p>
<p>Ravitz has a history with another News Corp exec, Joel Klein, the former NYC Department of Education who left in 2010 to serve as EVP at News Corp. According to the <em>L.A. Times</em>, Klein&#8217;s influence at the company is growing.</p>
<p>Julie Henderson has been promoted to Everett&#8217;s previous position.</p>

<title>Pinterest Expanding Its Audience Beyond Women</title>

Now that the site is a bonafide hit, others may be jumping on the bandwagon.</p>
<p>Despite the annoying headline (&#8220;Pinterest: Where domestic divas hang out online&#8217;) <a href="http://digitallife.today.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/01/30/10272403-pinterest-where-domestic-divas-hang-out-online">this story</a> uses a quote from the <a href="http://pinterest.com/about/">Pinterest website</a> that says the site wasn&#8217;t meant to be just for the ladies.</p>
<p>&#8220;Our goal is to connect everyone in the world through the &#8216;things&#8217; they find interesting,&#8221; the quote says. &#8220;With millions of new pins added every week, Pinterest is connecting people all over the world based on shared tastes and interests.&#8221;</p>
<p><a href="http://www.thestreet.com/story/11390627/1/why-more-men-should-join-pinterest.html?cm_ven=GOOGLEN">TheStreet.com</a> goes a step further with its article, &#8220;Why More Men Should Join Pinterest.&#8221; Among the four reasons it gives are &#8220;product discovery&#8221; and &#8220;more engagement with strangers.&#8221;</p>

<title>LinkedIn Has a New PR Firm, Positive Outlook</title>

<p>The social network has come a long way in recent months. <a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/prnewser/linkedin-admits-that-no-one-goes-to-linkedin_b15571">In paperwork submitted</a> for its IPO about a year ago, the company said it had plenty of members, but few visited regularly. Today, membership stands at about 135 million with lots of apps and <a href="http://www.mediabistro.com/prnewser/linkedin-launches-news-aggregator_b17143">other features</a>.</p>
<p>&#8220;We believe that the &#8216;Apply with LinkedIn&#8217; feature will be crucial in sustaining this growth in 2012 as well,&#8221; <a href="http://www.forbes.com/sites/greatspeculations/2012/01/27/looking-at-fundamentals-linkedin-is-a-39-stock/">says <em>Forbes</em></a>. &#8220;If LinkedIn manages to tie up with more employers to adopt this feature, it may definitely see more candidates registering as members.&#8221;</p>
