Dell’s Project DaVinci Names CEO

Dell’s $4.5 billion internal marketing communications agency (aka Project DaVinci) has found a CEO: Torrence Boone, formerly president of Digitas Boston, a Publicis digital marketing subsidiary.

Prior to Digitas, Boone served as vice president/general manager for the interactive agency Avenue A and as senior manager at Bain & Company. Boone will be based in the agency’s New York headquarters and will report directly to Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO of WPP, who was hired by Dell to create the DaVinci agency.

So far DaVinci has hired 500 people, about half of its eventual target.

Flatiron Communications founder and Publicity Club of New York president Peter Himler is handling PR for DaVinci.
