Did Robert Gibbs “Play It Safe” on Meet the Press?

The last time White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs was on NBC’s Meet the Pressthis past July — he said of the mid-term elections, “there are enough seats in play to cause Republicans to gain control.” The comments generated some controversy in media and political circles and seemed to display a Democratic party almost accepting defeat.

In an interview on the show yesterday morning, Gibbs “played it safe” said USA Today‘s David Jackson, when he stated, ‘”come election night, we’ll retain control of both the House and the Senate.”

Gibbs continued, stating that Democratic candidates have done, “a remarkably good job in a tough political environment.” Watch both of the interviews and let us know in the comments if you think Gibbs performed better this time around.
