‘Economist’ and PBS Partner for Film Project

The Economist is partnering with the PBS NewsHour for “The Economist Film Project,” a showcase for documentary films.
Starting January 10, 2011, the project will begin accepting submissions of completed films on a rolling basis through January 2012. At least three films will be selected each month. Segments will air on the PBS NewsHour and appear on the show’s website, Hulu and YouTube channels; appear on the Film Project website; and on The Economist YouTube channel and Facebook fan page.
PBS executive producer Linda Winslow told the Thompson on Hollywood site that the project will “bring important new voices to our reporting and enhance our audiences’ understanding of the world around them.”
The Economist has enlisted DKC to help with the project.
