Healthcare and pharmaceutical marketers are marking November 11th and 12th on their calendars, as those dates have been set for a public hearing by the FDA and Department of Health and Human Services, titled, “Promotion of Food and Drug Administration-Regulated Medical Products Using the Internet and Social Media Tools.”

The notice of public hearing states that the FDA, “is particularly interested in hearing views from the public as to how expanding Web 2.0 technologies may be used to promote medical products to both health care professionals and consumers in a truthful, nonmisleading, and balanced manner.” The hearings will focus on “emerging technologies,” including “blogs, microblogs, podcasts, social networks and online communities, video sharing, widgets, and wikis.”

Healthcare agency Chandler Chico tells PRNewser that they will have someone live-tweeting from the hearing. What other agencies will be attending?
