Setting a Guinness World Record is a time honored PR stunt. One of our recent favorites is a bunch of Italians setting the record for “largest number of participants to play in a single Guitar Hero session over a 24-hour period.”
Ford set a record of their own this past Tuesday night: the largest tweetup ever. 1,149 “Fiesta Movement agents and Twitter friends” in the same room was all it took. The event was an awards show for Ford’s Fiesta Movement, the social media program to promote it’s Fiesta model car.
“Time and again, our Fiesta Movement agents have shown how social media, adventurous spirit and unbridled enthusiasm can bring people together in new, exciting ways,” said Connie Fontaine, Ford brand content and alliances manager in a statement.
