Former CBS Exec, “60 Minutes” Format Creator and PR Director, Passes Away

Longtime CBS executive and “60 Minutes” format creator Robert Chandler passed away last Thursday. He was 80. In addition to his central role with “60 Minutes,” Chandler created the CBS News Poll and negotiated the 1976 partnership that established The New York Times/CBS News Poll.

However, where did he get his start? Chandler, “joined CBS as public relations director for the news division. He also served as vice president for public affairs broadcasting,” according to the NY Times.
