Um? Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, please proceed to the white courtesy phone.
For all those people who think the U.S. Government is “up” to something, they are in more ways than you know. How so? The morning wood is not the gavel used by the Speaker of the House.
This is our government, people. And wait until you read this…
Just when those supremely qualified millionaires on Capitol Hill are still reeling from an impressive signal-digit approval ratings, America has been informed that the total bill for these vacuum erection systems (VES) from 2006-2011 was close to $175 million.
And much like those dopes on Capitol Hill are prone to doing, we were forced to pay double the retail price for said pumps because Medicare prices for the systems “remain grossly excessive compared with the amounts that non-Medicare payers pay.”
Health care policy experts said the revelations in the IG report are a troubling indication of what they describe as wasteful spending in federal health programs.
“The fact that taxpayers have spent more than a quarter of a billion dollars over the past decade on penis pumps via Medicare is obscene and insulting – even more so when you consider that this is an arena of Medicare expenditures rife with fraud and where the government doesn’t even bother to assess medical necessity,” said Ben Domenech, a senior fellow at the Heartland Institute.
That’s right, ‘Merica: for some reason government-subsidized penis pumps are twice as expensive.
Stay classy, Congress.
