It’s been many years and no one has managed to get even close to toppling the empire that Craig Newmark has built with Craigslist. But given the increasing anonymity and the occasional murder, Craigslist has gotten pretty skeezy.

A place kind of like social network Facebook, and kind of like online classified site Craigslist. Mix the two and you have honest recommendations from trusted friends and you won’t end up chopped into pieces in the trunk of some guy’s car when you respond to an ad for a sofa.
