Headline of the Day: Sick bats' PR problem could prove to be deadly (Boston Globe)
Bats in the Northeast and New England are sick and no one wants to fund the research to make them healthy again. That's why according to the Boston Globe, Tom Kunz from Boston University sees the need for PR for the freaky flying nocturnal mammals: "We're talking about the need for a full-time publicist, and talks on CNN and David Letterman," said the concerned bat researcher. Remember, those screechy little guys eat up a ton of mosquitoes and "distribute" a lot of seeds throughout the land. Kudos to the Globe's Beth Daley taking an interesting angle, and getting us to read about this dark and mysterious problem. [Bats, in need of an image makeover, via Wikipedia] Tuesday Mar 04, 2008
