Honoring Our Veterans

On this Veteran’s Day, the world recognizes the 91st Anniversary of the end of WWI. The day also holds additional special meaning given the shootings last week at Fort Hood. Some companies are running promotions, and announcing donations or other related programs:
Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), launched a new series of Public Service Announcements (PSAs) as a part of its National Veteran Support Campaign with the Ad Council.
AgencySpy has the video from Applebees’ promotion. All vets and active duty personnel can eat for free today at Applebees.
Porter Novelli is working with the Bob Woodruff Foundation for their Tweet to Remind campaign.
Overstock.com raised more than $30,000 for Veterans.
Non-profit Give an Hour(TM) provided nearly $2 million in services to Iraq and Afghanistan veterans and families.
Mobile non-profit services company mGive launched a donation via text campaign.
350+ Hooters Restaurants launched the 6th Annual Operation: Calendar Drop today, in which the restaurants plan to send out tens of thousands of calendars to troops overseas during the holidays.
