Howard Rubenstein, who has worked on his fair share of crisis communications issues, told USA Today in a story published today that BP has created, “a Frankenstein of a PR problem.”
“They tried to minimize it at the beginning, but you can’t do that in a crisis of this magnitude,” he said.
Rubenstein’s solution? BP should start giving away billions of dollars to those affected by the spill, regardless of what the government orders them to do.
