What would Fashion Week be, after all, without a little drama? The spring edition of New York’s bi-annual event is proving to have at least a few high profile fireworks. Notably, People’s Revolution Founder and MTV reality show star Kelly Cutrone being fired by client Yigal Azrouel after former governor Eliot Spitzer‘s infamous call girl Ashley Dupre showed up at his opening.

“If Ashley had shown up at Marc Jacobs‘ show, he would have been a hero. It would have been cutting-edge – but Yigal and she weren’t the best fit,” Cutrone told the Daily News.

As for being let go by Yigal, Cutrone said, “I’ve been fired before, and I’ll be fired again. It’s the nature of our industry, and it doesn’t upset me.” So, Cutrone gets her name all over the press and maintains her “edgy” but some would argue effective media relations skills. Meanwhile, Dupre gets some additional PR for her upcoming album (yes, she is trying to make it as a singer). Everyone wins?
