Lady Gaga Goes to Barney’s for the Holidays
Madison Avenue department store Barney’s has turned over its fifth floor to Lady Gaga, creating a Gaga-inspired wonderland of hair bows, strange stocking stuffers, special edition books, and other items all related to the wacky world of the Lady.
With all of the high/low collaborations out there, this is an interesting one. Prices on items range from a $15 hand-decorated cookie, to a $95 chocolate shoe, and a disco ball that tops $1,000; Barney’s is pricey, after all. But, if you take a look at the GMA tour (above), there appears to be little things — like a toy Gaga in a spinning top — that couldn’t possibly be too expensive either. Surely, with all the Little Monsters out there, many people who otherwise wouldn’t will be flocking to Barney’s to catch a glimpse and take a piece home. You have until January 2 to check it out.
There’s a charitable angle too: 25 percent of proceeds will go to Gaga’s new charity, the Born This Way Foundation. The buzz around the store also provides the opportunity for a plug for “A Very Gaga Thanksgiving,” a special airing on Thanksgiving that sounds like it could be a little entertaining but really cheesy.
