Nokia is in the midst of a PR review for its North American agency of record and for PR support in other global markets. PRWeek‘s Aarti Shah first reported the news.

Ketchum is the incumbent and “they have been a long standing partner of Nokia’s for many years – over a decade in fact,” Nokia Director of Communications for North America Laurie Armstrong told PRNewser.

“Our relationship remains in good standing. It is true; however, that we have decided to review our NA PR Agency support and as such, we’ve launched a formal RFP process. This decision is standard business practice and in fact, part of a global process where we have been reviewing our PR agencies in major countries,” she said.

Nokia is well into the process and a final decision should come within weeks. As such Armstrong said the company is not inviting any additional agencies to participate. The company declined to comment on which agencies are involved or the budget for the account.
