Omnicom Group, home to firms including Fleishman-Hillard, Porter Novelli, and Ketchum, has reported a 14.7 percent global revenue increase for the second quarter of 2011, for a total of $3.49 billion. That’s an increase from $3.04 billion the previous quarter. In 2010, global revenue increased 22.7 percent to $1.72 billion in the second quarter.
Domestically, revenue was up 7.8 percent from about $1.64 billion to $1.76 billion.
PR contributed 8.9 percent to second quarter revenue, or $311.7 million for the second quarter. Public relations added about the same percentage, 9 percent, to first half revenue, totaling $598.1 million.
Global revenue for the first six months of the year increased 11.4 percent year-over-year to about $6.64 billion; domestically, revenue was up 5.8 percent versus last year to about $3.42 billion. The U.S. made up just over 50 percent of revenue for the second quarter, and 51.4 percent of revenue for the first half.
Net income for the second quarter increased 13.1 percent to $275.1 million. Net income was up 17.3 percent in the first half to $477 million.
