The big Omnicom (NYSE: OMC) shop Porter Novelli announced today that Randy Pitzer has joined the agency as managing director of the Chicago office.

The 25-year PR vet joins Porter Novelli after more than eight years at Edelman Chicago, where he was EVP and general manager focusing on technology and b-to-b accounts including A.T. Kearney, Motorola, Qwest Communications and others. He led a team of 16 execs there.

Before Edelman, Pitzer held positions at other big agencies Ketchum and Ogilvy PR. He will report to Anthony Viceroy, Porter Novelli’s president.
