While Rangel may not have liked the question, it certainly seems to be a reasonable one, no? Here was Rangel’s response:
Well, you’re young, I guess you do need to make a name for yourself…Basically you know it’s a dumb question and I’m not going to respond to it … It doesn’t really sound like NBC — asking these dumb questions. It just shows what happened to a channel that did have some respect.
Oof. Note to Rangel: don’t mock one of the nation’s largest news organizations — it’s probably not in your best interest.
Rangel apologized today, saying, “I don’t know how to say no comment,” and “it’s a very difficult thing for me to turn away reporters who are doing their jobs…I had a very good conversation with Luke Russert, and apologized for the way I treated him.”
