Politico.com’s Mike Allen confirms speculation that Robert Gibbs will be President Elect Barack Obama’s press secretary.

The smooth talking 37-year-old Southerner ushered Obama through some very tricky attacks during the campaign, and became more of a household name when he took on Sean Hannity in September.
