Allison+Partners announced that David Wolf has been named managing director of the agency’s global China practice. Wolf counsels American, Chinese and European clients across a range of industries and specializes in managing complex communications challenges, including crisis comm, new market entry and corporate reorganization. He also helps clients consider elements beyond branding and messaging to rethink strategies, positioning and execution. Prior to joining Allison+Partners, Wolf spent seven years as president and chief executive officer of Wolf Group Asia (WGA), a Beijing-based strategic corporate communications advisory firm. RF|Binder, a New York-based PR and communications firm, announced two new senior-level hires. Elyse Blazey Gentile joins the agency as senior managing director to consumer and corporate accounts and Lori Rodney joins as managing director of the agency’s education group. Both managers will be responsible for developing new business opportunities as well as counseling existing clients. Blazey Gentile has more than 15 years experience in media relations and corporate/crisis communications. Her most recent role was vice president of corporate communications at E*TRADE.

Rodney most recently served as corporate account manager at Waggener Edstrom, representing clients such as Android and Windows Phone manufacturer HTC. She has more than a decade of experience working for such top firms as Edelman, MWW Group and Cohn & Wolf. (IBTimes)

Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. hired American Airlines veteran Craig Kreeger as its new chief executive. Mr. Kreeger, 53 years old, succeeds current CEO Steve Ridgway, who is retiring from the airline next month after 23 years. Mr. Ridgway and Mr. Kreeger will work together until then. Mr. Kreeger joined American Airlines in 1985 as an analyst. He was appointed senior vice president of customer service in 2012, having previously served a senior vice president of international operations. (Wall Street Journal)

Penton Media has named Kate Spellman senior VP of marketing. She will report to Penton CEO David Kieselstein and serve as a member of its executive committee. Spellman will be responsible for establishing new strategic partnerships to market to small and midsize businesses. Spellman, who will be based in the company’s New York headquarters, was most recently the president of United Business Media’s UBM Studios. (Release)

Industry veteran Kim Bryant has been named executive in charge of Cumulus’s New York radio cluster. She will oversee all sales and station operations. Bryant joins Cumulus after more than 25 years in radio and television, most recently serving as EVP of marketing and sales for international cable channel Cinemoi. (Fishbowl NY)
