Lisa Poulson has been named Burson-Marsteller‘s global tech practice chair. She’ll remain in San Francisco reporting to CEO Mark Penn. Poulson rejoined the firm in 2005 after working for Sun Microsystems and had been the lead on the HP client. The four regional leads are Jackie Price, MD of the technology and media practices for Asia-Pacific; Guido Gaona, innovation and tech practice chair in Latin America; Chris Cartwright, EMEA technology practice chair; and Jim Goldman, U.S. technology practice chair.
PepsiCo is making changes to its marketing department. Jill Beraud, CMO of PepsiCo Beverages America is leaving amid the changes. Three new positions, two external and one internal, will assume her responsibilities. Brad Jakeman, previously VP and CMO at Activision Blizzard, will now be the international head marketer of Pepsi’s trademark for Pepsi, Diet Pepsi, and Pepsi Max. Rishi Saha is leaving his post at 10 Downing Street as head of digital comms to join Hill & Knowlton as regional director of Australia, the Middle East, Africa, and, South and Central Asia, effective August 1. This is a new role based in the Dubai office. He was appointed to his post in the Prime Minister’s office after leading the 2010 general election digital campaign for the British Conservative party.
Research in Motion’s VP of digital marketing and media Brian Wallace has decamped for Samsung Mobile. His job at Samsung will encompass work with branding, offline media, and creative services. His departure comes a day after some dismal financial news from RIM. The company’s CMO Keith Pardy left in March. [via Ad Age]
APCO Worldwide has added former Congressman Baron Hill to its staff. Hill, who was a House Democrat representing Indiana’s ninth Congressional district, will serve as APCO’s SVP of the government relations practice and on the International Advisory Council. While in Congress, he was a member of the Committee of Energy and Commerce, the Committee on Science and Technology, and the House Armed Services Committee.
