Roll Call: CBS Interactive, Porter Novelli and Hornall Anderson

Christine Castro has been named senior vice president, communications, for CBS Interactive. In her new roll, Castro will oversee all global external and internal communications and public relations efforts for CBS Interactive and its portfolio of digital brands, including CBS.com, CBSNews.com, CBSSports.com, CNET, GameSpot, and TV.com. Castro will work with the general managers of each property to plan public relations and communications strategies in support of their business objectives and will work with CBS Interactive management and CBS communications leadership focusing on the public, the media and the investment community. Porter Novelli today announced that Katie Huang Shin has joined the company as executive vice president, deputy client relationship leader on the agency’s HP business. She will drive strategy and operations, reporting to Darlan Monterisi, executive vice president, managing director of Porter Novelli New York. Huang Shin will also be responsible for working to grow the agency’s Global Technology practice worldwide. Huang Shin joined Porter Novelli from FleishmanHillard, where she was senior vice president and senior partner, deputy managing director for the firm’s global technology sector. In that capacity, Huang Shin worked with regional, office and account team leadership around the world to provide high level strategic communications counsel to a diverse portfolio of technology companies. Jack Anderson, co-founder and CEO of 31-year-old branding and design firm Hornall Anderson, is stepping into the role of chairman and has promoted president of operations, John Anicker, to president and CEO. Anderson started the Seattle-based design firm Hornall Anderson in 1982, with then partner John Hornall. Since its inception, Hornall Anderson has grown from a small shop servicing local clientele to a global firm that is part of Diversified Agency Services, a division of Omnicom Group Inc. As Chairman, Anderson will relinquish day-to-day operations and duties, and focus his attention on overall long-term planning and strategy, as well as provide ongoing counsel and direction to select clients. In his new role as president and CEO, Anicker takes on the responsibility of leading the firm in its day-to-day operations. Anicker has been with Hornall Anderson for over 20 years, beginning as a designer with the firm in 1992. (Release)
