Bailey Gardiner and Fishtank Brand Advertising have joined forces to create i.d.e.a., a San Diego-based “full-service creative group” that blends advertising, branding, social media, PR, and other marketing disciplines. BG founders Jonathan Bailey and Indra Gardiner and Fishtank’s founder Ryan Berman will lead the new firm. Clients from both firms will continue with i.d.e.a. Current and past clients include Puma, UNICEF, and Tiffany & Co.
Cindy Tian has been named vice chair of Edelman’s Asia-Pacific region, effective March 15. This is a newly-created position where Tian will be based in Beijing, leading operations for the Edelman China public affairs practice. She’ll work with practice leaders across offices and groups in the public affairs and government relations space. Tian was previously executive chairwoman of Burson-Marsteller China.
David Angehrn has been promoted to SVP of marketing for G4, the cable and satellite network targeting men ages 18 through 34 with programming focused on gaming, technology, and “geek culture.” He was previously VP of marketing and joined the network in 2006. Lorenzo de Guttadauro has also joined the network as SVP of brand and creative in charge of on-air, print, and online design. He was previously SVP of brand creative at NBC Entertainment.
PR and marketing firm Centurion Strategies has expanded into sports and entertainment. The firm has brought on the current linebacker for the Buffalo Bills, Kirk Morrison, as the director of business development. Morrison is also a commentator on ESPN and other sports broadcast programming. He will work with the firm’s director of PR Lauren Renschler. [via]
Nashville-based DVL Public Relations & Advertising has merged with Phil Martin Affiliates. DVL will acquire PMA’s assets and Phil Martin will join DVL as an SVP. Martin launched PMA in March 2010 after more than a decade with a variety of PR firms. Clients include Tennessee Hospital Association and United Way of Metropolitan Nashville. [via]
