Ogilvy PR appointed Jennifer Banovetz to the position of SVP/brand marketing director effective August 4th. Banovetz, who most recently served as SVP of consumer brand practice at Edelman Los Angeles, will remain in the L.A. area to “oversee the growth and strategic direction of the firm’s work with major consumer accounts” on the West Coast while also working with other clients across the nationwide brand marketing practice. To the new role she brings more than 15 years of experience in brand communications for clients like Nestlé, Dogswell, Lululemon, Movember and Volkswagen of America; her resume includes stints at Cohn & Wolfe and an in-house position at Mazda. (Release)

Hill+Knowlton‘s Canadian operations announced the appointment of Mona Gauvreau as VP of its Ottowa public sector communications team. While Gauvreau has a fairly extensive history with H+K, this new position marks something of a return home: over the past year, she was general manager of the agency’s Dubai office after serving in the VP capacity in Calgary from 2011 to 2013. Gauvreau also held a VP position at H+K from 2004 to 2007; in her latest role she will handle  crisis communications, media relations, issues management, message development, community relations and event planning for Canadian clients. (Release)

Agency veteran Kevin Grady joined Siegel+Gale as global head of content and design. Grady most recently worked at design and innovation consulting firm IDEO, but he previously served in roles at ad agencies Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Mullen and Arnold Worldwide, where major design campaigns for clients like GAP, Grey Goose, FAGE and Benjamin Moore. Grady also contributed to the FDA’s recent efforts to simplify nutrition labels; co-CEO and chief strategy officer David Srere writes, “Much of Kevin’s previous work reflects Siegel+Gale’s ethos of simplicity.” (Release)

Samsung Telecommunications hired a new VP of communications to drive all related initiatives in the United States. Malaysia-born Cristina Pantin joins the company from Brunswick Group a business communications firm; prior to beginning her work in the communications industry she spent 25 years at Reuters in a journalistic capacity. Pantin has a Master’s Degree in international affairs from Columbia University and a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism from West Virginia University. (Release)
