Hugo Pérez has joined Zócalo Group as VP and account director of Hispanic marketing. He will lead the firm’s WOM and social media efforts targeting the Hispanic marketing. Pérez is a former journalist who has worked at NBC, CBS, MSNBC, and MSNBC.com. He also has comms experience, working with organizations including Mars, AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, and the Latin Grammys.
Marc Levy is joining Ketchum New York as SVP of insights and creative catalyst responsible for providing counsel to account teams as they develop client initiatives. Previously, Levy was EVP and U.S. creative director at Cohn & Wolfe. He also previously worked with Ketchum between 1995 and 2001 in the firm’s brand practice.
Christopher Barger will join Voce Communications as SVP of global programs beginning April 11. Most recently, he was director of global social media at GM. Women at NBCU has added eight to its advisory board: Mike Brzezinski, author and co-host of MSNBC’s Morning Joe; Wendy Clark, SVP of integrated marketing comms and capabilities at Coca-Cola; Deborah Marquardt is VP of media and integrated marketing for L’Oreal USA’s consumer products division; Esther Dyson, chairwoman of EDventure Holdings; Andra Ehrenkranz, Macy’s group VP of consumer insights and strategy; Linda Sawyer,CEO of North America for Deutsch; Ellen Levine, editorial director for Hearst Magazines; and Katherine Oliver, commissioner of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment. The board, which reports to Lauren Zalaznick, chairman of NBC Universal Entertainment and Digital Networks & Integrated Media, will appear at the next Women at NBCU event on May 3rd in New York with keynote speaker, Iman.
Turner PR, a firm focused on luxury travel, real estate, and consumer brands, has hired Rebie Bautista Lash as senior director. Lash was previously senior director at Andria Mitsakos Public Relations handling travel, hospitality, and lifestyle accounts.
Digital and experiential marketing firm AMP Agency has hired Jamie Pappas as VP of social media. Prior to joining the firm, she was manager of enterprise social media engagement strategy at EMC Corporation, a global Fortune 200 company.
