Of course, hosts pressed him on the immigration issue, and while he promised to create a “permanent solution” to a “broken” immigration system that would not involve “round[ing] up 12 million people…and hav[ing] them all deported,” he offered very little in the way of policy specifics. Surprise surprise—we pity the man who has to avoid offending his base at all costs.
But the real hot blog topic of the day is Romney’s bizarre appearance. It would seem, based on side-by-side photos, that his skin was a little…browner than usual during the show.
We hesitate to accuse the candidate’s makeup team of “dyeing him brown” to increase his appeal among Latin voters, but we do know that he currently trails President Obama among that all-important demographic by approximately 40%, and we did recently hear him tell big-time donors that “it would be helpful to be Latino.” So there’s that.
Yes, this was probably just an unfortunate “wardrobe malfunction”; were Romney’s people too careful or not careful enough?
