Royal Wedding What? Friday is Arbor Day!
The Royal Wedding is nice and fancy and we’re happy for the Prince and Kate. But news flash! Friday is Arbor Day.
Timberland conducted an Arbor Day survey and found that 76 percent of Americans didn’t know that it was on Friday. But, 98 percent of respondents (they surveyed 506 men and 549 women between March 31 and April 1) said trees are important. Who are these two percent of people who don’t enjoy breathing?
To that end, Timberland is bringing back its Virtual Forest, a Facebook app that will match each virtual tree planted on Facebook with an actual tree planted in Haiti. A separate Hortiscope app will find your “tree personality.”
Northwestern Mutual (yes, the life insurance company) is also using the holiday to teach a financial lesson about preparing for the future. Check out their video below.
