Schartz Acquires U.K. Firm Hayhurst

The Waltham Mass-based tech and healthcare firm Schwartz Communications announced their expansion in to the U.K. and Europe today with the acquisition of Hayhurst Media. Hayhurst is just four years old and specializes in life sciences and cleantech. The merger adds two dozen clients to Schwartz’s roster.

Schwartz currently sits 7th on the O’Dwyer’s indie rankings with $31 million in billings and about 200 employees.

Like Scwhartz, Hayhurst is also managed by a husband and wife team, with Richard and his former journalist wife Amanda at the helm. Their blog explains that they got to know Schwartz when they met Kristina Ebenius in 2005 when she was handling healthcare in Boston. She is now Schwartz’s European managing director based in Stockholm. The Hayhursts will be co-managing directors of Schwartz U.K., reporting to Ebenius.
