A New Whitehouse.gov, And First Blog Post
The Obama administration wasted no time in making sure the "cyber" transition took place as efficiently as the "real" one. A new version of Whitehouse.gov went live yesterday, with new features including: The Briefing Room, The Agenda, The Blog, The Office of Public Liason, and an SEO-friendly footer/sitemap. The first blog post by Macon Phillips, director of new media for the White House was posted at 12:01 PM ET and said: "Millions of Americans have powered President Obama's journey to the White House, many taking advantage of the internet to play a role in shaping our country's future. WhiteHouse.gov is just the beginning of the new administration's efforts to expand and deepen this online engagement." Phillips said the administration's new media efforts will center around three priorities: Communication, Transparency and Participation.
