  • Edelman acquired The Devon Group, a Toronto-based firm. The firm will become part of Edelman Canada starting today, with its president Bob Richardson serving as EVP and overseeing operations in Calgary, Montreal, Vancouver and Toronto. In a related blog post, Edelman Canada CEO John Clinton writes that the change will turn the firm’s Canadian offering into “something much more than working the old boys’ network of days gone by.”
  • SSA will be AOR for The Electronic Retailing Association (ERA). The firm will handle media relations for the trade group, which should have no problem ensuring that consumers continue to buy tech stuff.
  • MWW clients Paul Tatami and Jeff Zarrillo, best known as the plaintiffs in the case that ended California’s same-sex marriage ban, tied the knot in Beverly Hills last week with the help of The Hilton chain. Click for pics.
  • New York firm Tractenberg & Co. announced the launch of a new digital specialty division to help manage social media for “boutique beauty, fashion, and lifestyle” clients. Director Andrea Wytish, formerly of Parade magazine, will lead the division.
  • The Delaware River Port Authority hired David La Torre, President of La Torre Communications, to handle clean-up duties. La Torre, who previously served as spokesman for Governor Tom Ridge of Pennsylvania, will help clear up debris stemming from a federal investigation into “politically connected economic development projects” until the Authority can find a proper AOR.
