Burston-Marsteller’s BKSH Associates is working to block the construction of a large wind energy farm consisting of 130 turbines off the coast of Cape Cod.

According to O’Dwyer’s, BKSH has a five-member team working for the Alliance including CEO Scott Pastrick and chairman M.B. Oglesby.

Mark Rodgers, communications director for Cape Wind, the company behind the project, told PR Newser, “The opposition group to Cape Wind doesn’t have the facts or public support on their side – what they do have is a mountain of money from the donations of summer residents who own multi-million dollar homes overlooking Nantucket Sound that would sometimes have a distant view of wind turbines that would supply 3/4 of the electricity needs of Cape Cod and the Islands.”

The opposition group mentioned by Rodgers is BKSH client Alliance to Protect Nantucket Sound, who argues that the construction will hurt tourism, property values and local industries.

A spokesperson for Burson-Marsteller declined to comment for this story.
