“Swift Boat” PR Firm Pushes Abstinence
A campaign by the National Abstinence Education Association, called Parents for Truth, wants to recruit 1 million parents over three years to lobby local schools to adopt sex education programs that focus on abstinence.
According to political blog Think Progress, via the AIDS Taskforce of Greater Cleveland, the PR firm working on the project is Creative Response Concepts, best known for their involvement with the “Swift Boat Veterans for Truth” campaign against John Kerry in 2004.
The firm has been hired to “develop and implement a national public relations campaign to improve the public understanding and perception of abstinence education.” Other clients have included the RNC, Christian Coalition, Concerned Women for America, and the Discovery Institute.
