Roll Call: Carmichael Lynch Spong, UVA, StyleCaster, Groupon and More

Lori Robinson will join Carmichael Lynch Spong effective April 4 as senior principal and director of the New York office. Robinson will be responsible for client oversight, marketing, operations, staffing, and business development. She’ll report to firm MD Julie Batliner. Prior to this move, she was SVP, director of marketing and business development at Hill & Knowlton.

Liz Engel has joined Glover Park Group as MD in the government affairs practice. Engel was most recently deputy assistant secretary for legislation at the Department of Health and Human Services, working with the HHS and members of Congress on issues including Medicare. She also served on the President Obama‘s transition team.

Scott Miller joins the University of Virginia College and Graduate School of Arts and Science as director of communications overseeing development, communications strategy, and working with the public affairs office on the College’s messaging. Miller was formerly VP of comms at Time Warner and spent 13 years as a member of the company’s senior communications team.

Roll Call: Lionsgate, The Center for American Progress, Starbucks, and More

Lionsgate promoted its movie 'The Lincoln Lawyer' this week through a partnership with Groupon.

Julie Fontaine has joined Lionsgate as EVP of theatrical publicity, leading the studio’s PR efforts. She was previously the VP of domestic publicity for Disney Studios. According to Deadline Hollywood, Fontaine recently led the media strategy for Tron: Legacy and Gnomeo And Juliet 3D. (Info about the studio’s Groupon partnership for The Lincoln Lawyer here.)

Starbucks has named Jim Godfrey VP of public affairs for the UK and EMEA region, effective April 8. He was previously a principal and director at GallieGodfrey Consultancy, a London-based firm. (via PRWeek)

Break Media, a company that creates and distributes video content, has hired Greg Siegel as SVP of entertainment development, managing partnerships with television and film companies across multiple platforms. Previously, he was a talent agent at Endeavor.
