Roll Call: PRWA Launches, Foursquare Seeks a PR Director

A merger between two international PR networks –ECP Global Communications and IPAN (International Public Relations Agency Network) — has resulted in a new group, the PR World Alliance (PRWA). PRWA has 17 members (all independent firms) across 13 countries in North America and Europe with partners across Asia, Africa, and South America. Peter Stanton, CEO of Stanton Communications, is chair of the new organization. Additional info about members and offerings available here.

Foursquare is looking for a new PR director to head up business- and tech-focused PR efforts, PRWeek reports. Last month, Foursquare had a gaggle of news, including the exit of its VP of business development, Tristan Walker. M Booth was named its consumer PR firm in February.

360 Public Relations, which is celebrating a decade in business, has opened 360 Public Relations New York. The new office will be led by Rob Bratskeir, who has been named EVP and GM. He will also serve as creative director in this office and in the firm’s Boston HQ. Bratskeir was previously a New York-based EVP of Bratskeir & Company. 360PR has four practice areas: Entertainment & Electronics, Healthy Living, @ Home, Parenting, and 360 Social.

Burson-Marsteller has named Sarah Tyre MD of the Issues & Crisis Group. She’ll be based in New York reporting to Karen Doyne, MD and head of the group. Most recently, Tyre was SVP and MD of the Issues & Crisis Management group at Ketchum working with clients including Bridgestone/Firestone, ConAgra Foods, and IBM. She was with the firm for 15 years.

The Mexico Tourism Board is conducting a review, according to The Holmes Report. Ogilvy PR has been handling the account on an interim basis since late 2010. Plans are to double the PR budget going forward to $21 million. The country’s tourism industry has been impacted by stories of extreme violence in the region.

The Out NYC, which will focus on entertainment and hospitality for gay visitors and New Yorkers, has chosen Nancy J. Friedman PR for public relations services. The boutique hotel will also feature the XL Nightclub and Kitchen, a round-the-clock cafe.
