Chief strategy officer Michael Ramah will become acting CEO as of July 31.  The firm lost its long-time Gillette account during the latter part of 2011 and a number of execs have left the firm, including CMO Michael Goldberg who decamped for Deutsch after just a few months on the job. Emanate has hired three execs. Scott Cocchiere joins as director of creative relevance, working on campaigns across the firm’s roster. He was previously a director at Marketing Drive, working on the Dannon Yogurt client. Barrett Tripp and Joe DeSalazar get the less creative title of VP. Tripp, a producer whose work has shown at the Sundance Film Festival, will work with corporate video. And DeSalazar was previously a VP at Digitas working with the American Express OPEN client. He’ll be focused on digital at Emanate.

The company was formed last year and is looking to expand in the cloud computing, e-health, and mobile advertising spaces. They’re looking for a firm with digital expertise and the ability to work internationally.

GYMR Public Relations has announced its end-of-the-year account wins, which includes the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation, the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, the Institute for Health Technology Studies, and about a half dozen other companies. The firm is doubling in size in the Washington D.C. office this year.
