Terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Hinfelaar brings seven PR pros to the firm’s Netherlands operation, which has about 4.2 million Euros in revenues and 50 staff members.

Hinfelaar’s client roster includes Boehringer Ingelheim, and the firm already supports some of Edelman’s clients, such as AstraZeneca and Novartis. Marc Hinfelaar, which founded his namesake firm in 1998, will join the Edelman Amsterdam management team and lead the consumer, health, and food teams at the Amsterdam and Baarn offices. Edelman Amsterdam clients include Starbucks, PepsiCo, and MerckSerono.

“Part of the firm’s strategy is to deepen our existing capabilities by acquiring and integrating superb small-to-mid sized PR firms with complementary services that we don’t currently have in an existing Edelman market,” Edelman SVP of global communications wrote in an e-mail. continued…
