Former Washington Times managing editor for digital Jeffrey Birnbaum has been named president of BGR Public Relations.

Birnbaum’s move comes amidst massive change at the Times, including layoffs and the resignation of executive editor John Solomon, who recruited Birnbaum to the Times from the Washington Post.

Recent BGR clients include Verizon Wireless, Raytheon, GlaxoSmithKline, Northrop Grumman, Pfizer and the Republic of Poland.

Interestingly, “Birnbaum will continue as a columnist for the Washington Times and a contributor for Fox News” Politico reports.
