After a review, McGarryBowen‘s London office acquired the global advertising account for Toblerone, the renowned candy brand. WPP’s Ogilvy managed the account previously, and—even thought it will no longer handle the Toblerone account—it will continue to work for a new company, Mondelez, established by the division of Kraft Foods into two separate entities.

Jill Kelley, the Florida woman catapulted into fame upon being identified as the person who triggered an FBI investigation that exposed CIA Director General David Petraeus‘ extramarital affair, has hired the crisis firm Smith & Co., based in Washington, DC. Though Smith & Co. refused to comment, both USA Today and Fox News reported that Ms. Kelley and her husband, Scott, hired Smith & Co.’s founder, PR maven Judy Smith, and attorney Abbe Lowell.

WISE PR, based in New York City, has added several new clients to its roster: Control Group, an NYC-based innovation strategy firm; Spruce Media, the leading provider of enterprise-class marketing solutions for Facebook Ads; Yieldex, the leading provider of inventory and revenue management solutions for digital publishers; Dynamix, a provider of dynamic creative engagement, optimization and personalization technology, and Spindle Labs Inc., a developer of new search technology to help people discover social content.

Judy Smith, the inspiration for the new Kerry Washington program Scandal about a D.C. crisis expert, gave an interview this morning with Good Morning America.

Among the long list of scandal-plagued clients she’s worked with was Monica Lewinsky. When asked if she was the one who turned over that infamous blue dress, Smith refused comment. However, she did say that she was squarely focused on whether Lewinsky would go to prison “and making sure that never happens.”

‘Scandal’ Premiere: Kerry Washington is a ‘Gladiator in a Suit’

Last night was the premiere of Scandal, the new ABC program about a D.C. crisis expert based on Judy Smith (left), a real D.C. crisis consultant.

On the show, which was created by Shonda Rhimes (Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice), Kerry Washington plays the very tough head of a crisis firm that specializes in high-profile problems. In real life, Smith has worked with Michael Vick and Monica Lewinsky, among others. On the show, Washington’s Olivia Pope had to manage a decorated war hero with a big secret and a President (as in the President of the United States) trying to keep allegations of an affair under wraps. But things aren’t what Pope thought they were! Scandalous!

‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Creator Developing TV Show About Crisis PR

The passion! The drama! Shonda Rhimes, Grey’s Anatomy creator, is tackling crisis PR in a new show she’s developing New York magazine’s Vulture blog has learned. The show will be based on consultant Judy Smith, who has worked with Bill Clinton, Michael Vick, and others bitten by scandal.

The show, rumored to be called In Crisis, will be a drama with soap-y undertones. In case you stopped following Meredith and the crew a few seasons back, here’s a taste to get of sense of what crisis comms will look like in Rhimes’ hands.
