Roll Call: PMBC Group, Telemundo Media and Karwoski & Courage PR

Los Angeles-based public relations firm PMBC Group recently announced the promotion of Lisa Inouye and Mila Salahuddin to senior manager roles. Both executives have been with PMBC as account mangers since 2012, overseeing technology, consumer, design, professional services and digital and social media accounts. (Release)

Telemundo Media announced the promotion of Eli Velazquez to senior vice president, Sports; effective immediately. Velazquez previously served as vice president, Sports, Telemundo Media since 2008. Velazquez will continue to oversee all sports programming and operations for the network, in addition to being responsible for leading the strategic initiatives related to domestic growth, integration of the department’s content beyond broadcast and helping to develop new and innovative ways to evolve the Telemundo Sports brand across multiple platforms. Velazquez will also take on new responsibilities related to planning and collaborating on major events across divisions within Telemundo Media. (Release)

Karwoski & Courage Public Relations has promoted Vanessa de Bruijn and Kristin Merchant to account supervisors. Since starting with the agency in 2010, de Bruijn has rapidly climbed the ranks from assistant account manager to account manager. As account supervisor, she will continue her work on accounts in healthcare and architectural products. Merchant’s promotion comes after one year with Karwoski & Courage, during which time she has been overseeing account work for the world’s largest retailer, a filtration industry client, and Karwoski & Courage’s sister agency, Martin Williams Advertising. Danny Selnick has been named senior vice president, strategic markets at Business Wire. In his new role, Selnick will focus on new business development opportunities across many sectors that would clearly benefit from Business Wire’s innovative portfolio of products and services. Well known in the Washington communications community, Selnick has acted in an advisory capacity to senior-level executives and officials at public relations agencies, government, associations, advocacy groups, political campaigns, organized labor, non-profits, foreign governments and corporations. Selnick joined Business Wire in 2007, tasked with creating its Public Policy division. He assumed the additional responsibility of LatinoWire in 2012, growing its revenues to record levels. Ogilvy Public Relations announced that Rachel Caggiano, senior vice president of Social@Ogilvy has been promoted to executive vice president, North America head of content, effective immediately. Caggiano is a founding member of the award-winning Social@Ogilvy offering and seven-year veteran of the agency. In her new role, Caggiano will direct the expansion of Ogilvy PR’s work in content marketing, emphasizing the distinct role that content plays in public relations, building reputation, establishing thought leadership, and driving advocacy. Telemundo Media announced the promotion of Allan Infeld, an industry veteran in media marketing and business development, to vice president, Client Development. Infeld had previously served as director, Client Development, Telemundo Media since joining the company in March 2013. In his new role, Infeld will work closely with internal stakeholders and business units to oversee all new client development for Telemundo Media. He will be responsible for identifying new ad categories and initiating and maintaining conversations with key advertisers. Infeld joined Telemundo Media in March 2013 as director, Client Development, where he worked with a variety of clients within the pharmaceutical space. Previously, Infeld was vice president, Client Development & Ad Sales, New Business Group at Univision Communications Inc.  (Release)

Spin the Agencies of Record

Boingo Wireless, a software and services provider for the wireless industry, has chosen Weber Shandwick as its AOR after a competitive review. Work began earlier this year. The firm is providing marketing support and strategic PR counsel.

Juniper Networks is switching its global AOR from Weber Shandwick to Edelman. The Holmes Report says the value of the business is about $2 million. Weber had been handling the Juniper business since 2009. There was no formal review of the account.

Silicon Graphics International has chosen Ogilvy PR as its AOR. The firm will raise the company’s brand awareness in international markets. SGI is a computing, storage, and service company.
