KCSA Strategic Communications‘ new tool, The IR App, is now available for download on the iPhone and iPad. The app gives public companies the opportunity to create a customized app containing live data feeds with stock information, analyst coverage, news releases, SEC filings, and more within two weeks time.

“Using this app shows a company’s willingness to embrace 21^st century technology, demonstrating that it is willing to go that extra step for its investors and stakeholders,” said Jeff Corbin, CEO of KCSA in an email.

IROs have been notoriously slow to adopt digital technologies in their work because of fears that they’ll end up on the wrong side of government regulations. Corbin said they’re beginning to loosen up, whether they want to or not.

Spanish telecomm company Telefónica Digital is looking for a global PR firm, Holmes Report says. The company was formed last year and is looking to expand in the cloud computing, e-health, and mobile advertising spaces. They’re looking for a firm with digital expertise and the ability to work internationally.

GYMR Public Relations has announced its end-of-the-year account wins, which includes the American Board of Internal Medicine Foundation, the Banner Alzheimer’s Institute, the Institute for Health Technology Studies, and about a half dozen other companies. The firm is doubling in size in the Washington D.C. office this year.

Leon Li has been named director of Edelman‘s public affairs practice in China. Li has previously worked for the Chinese Ministry of Commerce, the Chinese embassy in Argentina, and at private banks, including the Bank of East Asia.

Richard Licata has resigned as VP of corporate communications at Showtime Networks and joined NBC Entertainment as EVP of communications, a new position. He had been with Showtime for four years. In his new position, he’ll be working under chairman Robert Greenblatt, who was also at Showtime until January. [via The Wrap]

Ephraim Cohen has joined MWW Group as EVP of technology and digital content, leading the firm’s global practice. Cohen was previously the founder of The Fortex Group and served as EVP and GM of technology at Edelman.

Kevin King

Kevin King has been named Edelman‘s global digital practice chair, with David Armano assuming the rule of EVP of global innovation and integration, and Steve Rubel appointed to EVP of global strategy and insights. The latter two positions are newly-created. Michael Slaby was the previous digital practice chair. He has signed on to help President Obama with his reelection campaign. According to the firm, digital accounts for 11 percent of Edelman’s revenue, and the practice has 350 employees globally.

King was previously MD, serving as a digital lead for some Edelman clients. Armano was previously SVP of Edelman Digital and writes the Logic + Emotion blog. And Rubel was SVP and director of digital insights for Edelman Digital. He also authors a blog and a column in Ad Age.

Fleishman-Hillard has added two execs to its Chicago office. Brett McCall joins as SVP, executive creative director, and partner in the emerging media practice. And Darrell Jursa joins as an SVP in that practice. Both are newly created positions. McCall was previously chief creative officer at Worksong, a firm he co-founded in 2009 and has served as a VP of Edelman’s Matter division. And Jursa was previously a VP of emerging media t Dig Communications.
