Timo Sieg is stepping down as CEO of Ketchum Pleon in Europe and MD of the firm in Germany, leaving the firm at the end of the year. Dirk Popp will continue as CEO in Germany. And the company has named David Gallagher as CEO in Europe, effective immediately.

Gallagher will continue in his role as London chairman and has been serving as president in charge of operations in Europe for the past two years. Prior to that, he was head of the Ketchum operations in Europe pre-merger.

Tasso Enzweiler has been named Ketchum Pleon‘s MD in the Düsseldorf office. It’s one of the agency’s largest offices with 125 staffers. The office’s previous MD was Dirk Popp, who was named president of Ketchum Pleon Germany. Enzweiler was previously the MD of Hering Schuppener Consulting for five years.

Sir Liam Donaldson, England’s former chief medical officer and the British government’s former chief medical adviser has joined APCO Worldwide‘s International Advisory Council. While serving this dual role, Sir Donaldson played a role in the nation’s discussions and policies around stem cell research, smoke-free public spaces, and other issues.

Frank Pintauro and Donald Buckley have been named the co-heads of Showtime‘s marketing division. The previous EVP Len Fogge is believed to be heading to NBC to work with his former boss Bob Greenblatt. Richard Licata, another former Showtime staffer, recently left his post as VP of corp comms at Showtime to join NBC. [via Broadcasting & Cable]

Ketchum Pleon announced today that its merger in Germany is officially complete with the integration of businesses in Munich. The agency also has operations in other German cities including Berlin, Bonn, and Frankfurt.

The firm has also announced staff changes. Simone Hoch has been named MD of the new Munich office. Previously, she was a partner and head of Pleon’s Munich office. Sabine Stadel-Strauch has been promoted to head of European client service, a newly-created role. She was previously a partner and CEO of Ketchum’s Munich office. And Petra Sammer, formerly the managing and creative director for Ketchum Germany, has been promoted to chief creative officer of Ketchum Pleon Germany.

Merger plans were announced last summer. Ketchum Pleon will work alongside Omnicom‘s Emanate brand.
