Edelman’s Zeno Group has signed with Tylenol. Parent company Johnson & Johnson wants to counter a “series of recalls and manufacturing issues” as well as the lawsuits filed in the wake of reports tying Tylenol overdoses to liver failure.

A company spokesman issued a statement to AdAge but did not connect the decision to hire Zeno to the recent string of bad publicity…

Debby Communications has chosen Finn Partners as its international partner for the fourth annual Israeli Presidential Partners conference, Facing Tomorrow 2012. The event will take place in Jerusalem between June 19 and the 21. Finn Partners’ Israel office will lead the account. This is the second time the firm has worked with the event. This year, speakers will include Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger. [via]

Lenovo is evaluating its consumer PR options with an eye towards becoming the largest PC maker in the world. It’s number two behind HP, recently replacing Dell in the runner up spot. According to the Holmes Report, the company currently works with Text 100, Ogilvy PR, and, in China, Blue Focus. The search is being conducted in the UK with the company considering firms in and out of that country.

Roll Call: Heineken, Viacom, and More

Heineken USA has named Stacey Tank as SVP of corporate relations starting January 3. Tank was previously the head of corporate relations for G.E.’s $6 billion “Healthymagination” program and led the company’s 2011 launch of a $1 billion international cancer campaign.

Entertainment publicist Scotty Dugan died suddenly on Wednesday as he was en route to the funeral of music exec, film producer, and event promotions exec John Atterberry. Atterberry was gunned down in Hollywood on December 9. Witnesses say Dugan collapsed while waiting for a train. Dugan started as a reporter, working his way up to editor at The Hollywood Reporter before launching his own PR firm. He was handling PR for Atterberry’s indie Christian film God’s Country. Roll Call: Microsoft, Alcoa, Lane PR, and More

Microsoft has a new SVP of consumer channels and the Central Marketing Group: Chris Capossela. Capossela replaces Mich Mathews, who announced last week that she would be stepping down. Capossela was previously the SVP of the Office division, which houses Office, SharePoint, and other product lines. In this role, he also oversaw the launches of Office 2007 and 2010. [via TechCrunch]

Dina Shapiro has been named director of marcomms and branding at Alcoa. She will lead marketing strategy across the country and around the world. She was most recently the SVP of brand strategy at Citibank. Shapiro has 18 years of marketing experience including work with advertising firms JWT and BBDO.
